We stopped at RM 129 and roped up to Ribbon Falls. We felt a great sense of accomplishment at being able to do this!
At
RM 132 we had lunch and hiked to 2nd waterfall. We can't find the name of it in our riverbook but another nice fall!
RM 135 is the river’s narrowest point at just 76’ (boat is 14’ x 37’). The two boats end to end would be just 2' short of bridging the entire river.
RM 136 - Deer Creek falls. We hiked to the falls (no biggie). Hiked to overlook, keeping close to the wall side. Awesome views, scary looking over edge. Some (Lynn included) continued on to upper ’patio’. As Lucky described it, wall, path, death drawing his hand down (wall), over (path), down (death). And path was as little as 6” at times. So those of us with a bit of a fear of heights elected to stay at the overlook and really enjoyed our time there (see video).
Here's a video taken from the overlook (but not on the upper 'patio').
At RM 137 we camped at Poncho’s kitchen. Ice Cream for dessert! Day 5 - how do they do it? Bananas foster (torched the rum in darkness) - very elegant!
Day 4 - Fri Jun 12 RM 81 to RM 119 Big Dune. Passed Kaibab & Bright Angel suspension bridges, Big rapids (Horn Creek, Crystal, Sapphire). Waterfalls - Shinumo Creek, Elves Chasm. ABC party.
Day 6 - Sun Jun 14 RM 137 to RM 176 Below Red Slide. Matkatamiba Canyon, Havasu, Captains Dinner
